Measles outbreak suspected in some slum areas of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation

Three suspected measles cases have been recorded by the health division of the Chikhali and Kudalwadi slum areas, as per the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and the blood samples were sent for investigation.

 

These samples were taken from people with symptoms such as fever, cough, or rash, and such inquiries were common. The state has raised the health system′s alert level as measles outbreaks have been reported in several areas.

 

According to Pavan Salve, the civic organization′s extra health and medical officer, they met with a number of medical professionals to discuss safety measures, and no confirmed cases were reported so far within the area under their authority.

 

Further, Suryakant Devkar, the PMC′s immunization officer in Pune, claimed that this year, the civic body sent 116 suspected samples for NIV testing, which were gathered January onwards, and that none of these samples was found to be positive. He continued by saying that a vaccination drive was now being conducted at their hospitals.
